The Frankfurt Radio Bigband (hr-Bigband) stands for innovation and variety. It unfolds its activities in a broad range of styles from classical big band jazz to avant-garde jazz and from popular to classical music.

In August 2011 Jim McNeely became chief conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Bigband. After three years of being the orchestra's "artist in residence" Jim McNeely will now conceive and conduct even more new projects for the Bigband.
